Fp and battery wire jump at diagnostic terminal plug question

ok i tried connecting the Fp wire to the battery + wire at the diagnostic plug connector thinng under the hood on driver side

i learned this trick when i had my old 88 toyota pickup with 2.4L EFI, for four years,

this trick makes the fuel pump run any and all times that the ign key cylinder is in run position.,

without this mod then the pump doesnt run/prime until the engine is cranking/running

why isnt this same trick working on my 93 corolla i just acquired a few days ago ??

1.6L engine

maybe its not the battery + wire that you jump with the Fp wire ??

maybe i have forgotten ?

thanks for anything

I bet 40% or more of the members here have colder weather than you to deal with. I don't hear about cranking issues much. I remember priming my Ford, but that was a mechanical pump. These newer cars seem to have figured those issues out. I think

no im trying to figure out how you do the fuel pump wiring jump at the diagnostic terminal on these corollas like you can do on the trucks

wow you guys apparently dont know much about toyotas..

do i have to show you a page and teach you all ?

wow...
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=...a7f458acaa2672

93 22re hilux wont start

and i am not here to argue over who has the coldest weather

the damn truck started up very quickly after i jumped the wires together, in cold weather, unlike before i jumped them. it builds up the pressure BEFORE attempting to start. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand this.

i have not seen any of these older toyotas that prime the pump in run position
cranking position yes.
it should only have power during cranking times, contrary to most other manufacturers' vehicles

i was looking for info regarding the corolla.

why reply if you dont have any relevant infoo, and are replying simply to be argumentative or contrary?

wtf is wrong with ppl..

if you dont know, or want to act stupid and be unhelpful, then dont reply

thanks

Why do I highly bet that he was kicked out of the trucks forum?

Go hide your head for another 3 weeks!

#1. 7th gen Corollas prime anytime the key is in the on position. As do almost all vehicles since fuel injection became the norm, and even moreso since the mid 90s. No jumpers are necessary on your Corolla.

#2. If your engine cranks a second or so before starting(like mine), there is nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, it's good for your motor because the oil starts flowing, preventing a semi-dry start.

#3. I don't see how a primed fuel system will help anything start faster in cold weather than in summer. If your vehicle is starting slower in the winter than the summer, it's very unlikely that the fuel pump has anything to do with it.

4. The reason that we know nothing about this "trick" is that it's not necessary. Corollas start just fine in all sorts of weather. Messing around with things like that is bound to cause problems rather than fix them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
