why lower it? just install a body kit and better struts. you will be happier with it. just my input. i work on cars for a living. i get to replace cv axles and try to align lowered cars all the time. i also know that it takes more than a few bits and pieces to safely and properly lower a mcpherson strut suspention setup. ill probably get a rash of crap for knocking on lowered cars, but i can get better cornering and handeling out of a stock suspention than i can a lowered suspention. installing the proper strutts is the first step. air bags are even better because they are tuneable. plus you can lower and raise your ride with a push of a button. besides, if you lower it, you wont have an easy time putting a body kit on it later if you decide to. im not trying to offend, just figured id put in my 2 cents.

ok if you go that route i can respect it. it gives you the option to choose your ride hight.

Coil overs on our roads dont work. Way too stiff.
Buy a good set of struts with a set of lowering springs and be done with it, You will want camber bolts as well to adjust the camber back to spec. Be sure all the bushings are good in the bottom end and replace your inner/outer tie rods and lower ball joints at this time, as if they are slightly worn, they will be shot after a month or two on our roads.

Going to need more information to answer your question.

It depends on:

1). your budget
2), your needs, do you need ride height adjustment
3). your priorities. (ride comfort, handling performance)
4). what are you willing to sacrifice? ie. handling for ride comfort.

I have Tein S-Techs for a 98-02 Corolla got like 2 inches of drop all around with stock everything else. Ride is a little bumpier but if your struts are in decent condition you dont have to change anything else right away. Took like an hour to install myself.
