I looked at a lot of your post and it seems like you know what you are talking about so I thought I would inquire a bit more.

I have read that the 7afe with auto has a electronically controlled tranny .
on another one of my threads I was told that the auto ecu would wonder where the transmission went if the trans were swapped with a 4 speed. I have been searching for the answer but cant quite find an exact answer .

I came to the corolla section because I figured that this section would know more about 7afe than the tercel section ( the 7afe is going into a 94 tercel )

The ECU will probably look for the transmission, but it could care less if it's actually there as it's really there to control the engine. If I'm not mistaken, the Tercel uses an E series engine, so you might have some issues actually mounting the 7AFE in it, but as far as the ECU goes it should be fine.

The 7afe has the electronically controlled 4spd auto. You need the proper ecu to have it function correctly.
Using the auto ecu with a manual can be done with work (repinning harness and getting the connector for the ecu 12 pin vs 22 pin #3 connector.) But I wouldn't bother. Just find the right oe parts for what you want, less issues in the long run.

thanks for the info . If I don't find a 7afe MT and ECU really cheap with every thing I need then .

I think I just may try my hand at Mega Squirt ecu ,that way later I can buy any jdm engine with only the sensors and engine harness only ( alot cheaper when the whole swap is not included ) Thanks to supermuble he found a way to use most stock toyota distributors . It is almost plug and play.

OR later I could always get a 4age head and pipe up a 10psi turbo setup and modify the Mega Squirt for boost .

and wahhhlaaa .....7agte 94 tercel (hey..let me dream
