Exclamation DISTRIBUTOR PROBLEM! newbie needs help! 94 engine in 95 shell .

I'm new here so I'll introduce myself first. Friends call me Chucky, I'm from around Minneapolis area in MN and recently, I got a 95 corolla wagon from my bro in law and the engine had bad bearings...knock like crazy.

the situation is i got a 94 engine and put it in, I changed the intake manifold from the old (95)engine to the 94 engine for the sake of the harness and some vacuum reasons...

PROBLEM:
I noticed that the 94 engine's distributor has 2 wire plug but the block is clear of crank sensor position plug if that is it....and the 95 engine's distributor have only 1 plug (wire) but the block have a wire plug that I assume to be the crank position sensor ... I can't just swap the two dizzy because the harness won't allow it...The engine harness only have 4 wires to the distributor and the other (94 dizzy)one have like 6 and then 2 on the other smaller plug.

Anybody have any ideas on how I can get this thing to start. IT CRANKS AND SEEM TO WANT TO START BUT I ASSUME THAT WITHOUT THE PROPER SIGNALS FOR THE CPS THE CAR WON'T TURN OVER/START.

Thank you.

swap distributors, you need the 95 dis with the 95 computer, swap the front pulley and timing cover or whatever else is different to get the cps into place and reading a crank signal.

is the check engine light on or a code stored? is the 95 obd2 or obd1?

okay, I looked at the two motors again just now...I think i might have to changed the oil pump from the 94 engine to the 95 ...the cps I was talking about on the 95 engine has a bolt 10mm holding the sensor into the oil pump...I'll try changing the oil pump, timing cover, crank pulley and dizzy...the ecu/ecm should still be the 95 (inside the car).

Don't take this the wrong way but have you or anyone done this before? I just don't want to get myself into more of a mess when I have the option of returning the used 94 engine....I really want to thing to run...have no choice...so lmk.

thanks
