Creaking sound from clutch pedal

I have noticed lately that when I press on the clutch pedal, I hear a creaking sound

I had a quick look underneath the dash, I sprayed some silicone lube around the obvious parts and contact points but that did not solve the problem, ther creaking sound is still present

does anyone have the same issue?

silicone lube is not heavy enough for the forces on the pivot of a clutch pedal. Get some grease on that pivot.

Problem solved, thanks guys for your help

I took some white grease and coat the cylinder push rod, then pressed the pedal 20 times, put some more grease and that seems to solved the problem, no more creaking sound

if you can tolerate the cracking sound, then leave it as is

the grease only coats the outside of the push rod reducing the friction with the outer cylinder sleeve, it does not affect the internal functionning of the cylinder

I thought I had solved the problem for good by greasing the master cylinder push rod but now the freeking creaking sound has come back

anybody has any idea about a real fix?

I don't think it's the cylinder thats creaking, I think it's the spring or pedal itself. The pedal has the mounting bracket and the pedal, which is joined at one point with a pin and two plastic bushings. Replace the bushings or replace the pedal return spring. The master cylinder push rod doen't really push back the pedal alone. Again, I think it's the spring

Updated: Problem solved for good!

I think I solved this creaking clutch pedal for good.

The clutch master cylinder is bolted to the firewall by two bolts. The floor steel bracket for the clutch pedal is also hold down by the same two bolts plus an extra bolt.

Between the firewall and that bracket, there is that plastic/foam liner. Over time, that liner get squished and shrink, making the assembly somewhat loose.

Therefore, you need to tighten really good these 3 nuts using a 12mm socket. After I tighten those 3 nuts, the creaking disappeared right away!

I also noticed that the clutch pedal electrical switch is installed tightly against the plastic liner, if the pedal bracket is loose, the switch will rub against the liner and that is also contributing to the creaking sound

Typically its the pedal pivot and NOT the pushrod. Interesting that you should find the CMC body loose. I'll have to remember that one too.
