OEM Denso or aftermarket Distributor Cap?

I removed my OEM distributor cap yesterday to inspect. It was the original cap and at 200,000 km, all the four pin contacts inside were corroded with white stuff (corrosion?) and I tried to clean the contacts but one of them broke

I was shopping around for prices and found the following:

OEM Denso distributor cap from my local Toyota dealer: $68
OEM Denso rotor: $12

Aftermarket cap: $22
rotor: $10

is-it worthed to paid that extra money for OEM?

no imo

most popular opinion is to use the right plugs and wires (ngk, denso), but the cap and rotor can go aftermarket. That price is just stupid. Don't get the cheapest cap though. Some are better made than others. Check ac delco or beck arney. Just make sure the connections have the same barbs as oem.

Denso FTW.

Paying dealer price for anything is stupid. Buying Denso would be the wisest choice IMO.

Priced from 1st toyota parts.

Cap: $32.53
Rotor: $3.82

I don't care about the price. I buy everything from the dealer. that way you know you're getting the right and best parts. for instance when i changed my thermostat i bought a stant the first time then i bought a toyota recently and its way beefier. same with spartk plug wires they are come with all the clips and clamps and if i remember right the cap and rotor are beefier too. that's just my personal opinion i go with toyota parts even though they cost more.

Not saying I wouldn't use off brand parts depending on the part, but I had a mexican distributor cap that was a lot thinner than OEM and developed a small crack due to over tightening. Go with the Denso.

wire are originals and within specs for resistance so I did not have any reason to believe they are bad
