pinging noise from driver's side

Hi,

I have a 1996 Toyota Corolla DX with 200, 678 km.

Sometimes when coming to a complete stop or slowing down, there is a pinging noise coming from the driver's side. It's a slight small sound and I believe it started sometime around yesterday. It pings a few times and then silence. Anyone has a clue what it is? I just wanna know if anyone experience so i don't have to waste money on an inspection fee at the mechanic.

One more problem if I could ask. When turning or turning the steering wheel occasionally there is a squeaky sound like rubbing 2 pieces of rubber together and it's slowly getting more more squeaky ever month.

your front brakes wearing indicators maybe? does it seems like a screeching sound?

I have rechecked the brakes but it wasn't because I changed them a month ago both front and back.

The sound goes like ping .. ping ping ping .. ping ping and then stops when coming to a complete stop or slowing down.

rotor tapping the backing plate, check your wheels bearings. if theyre tight then just bend the backing plate.
