either something is broken/wrong with the car or you really need to stay off the gas pedal. i got 17mpg ONCE when i first got the car and drove it like a nutcase.

There are tons of things it could be, and probably is a combination of things. You'll have to be more specific with your information if you want specific advice. Or just take it to a mechanic who can diagnose it in person. That's your best bet anyway.

you should be getting within a few MPG's of the EPA estimates for your car.

Sounds like it's time to catch up on maintenance items.

30 mpg??? man you guys drive slow or you have a lucky corolla. I get about 22 city and 26-30 hwy. Whenever I lose mpg, i use fuel system cleaner and it works for years. And something interesting, whenever i drive slow, I get crappy mileage, but if i speed and floor it all the time, i get better gas mileage. Sounds weird, but its true. lol

Lugging the engine is equally as bad for fuel mileage.

Just get a regular set of NGK wires, they're cheaply priced and would probably pair better with NGK spark plugs.

They are also blue too.
