some sort of electrical, starting issues

So, my GF's 96 corolla was hard starting. I swapped out the battery, now the car will not start.

Things ive done and checked:

Changed out, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Checked all the fuses...i sound that the 100 amp alt fuse was blown (maybe an indication to something bigger?), changed that. Not starting. Turns over, but doesnt start. I pulled a plug wire and did the ole screw driver in the spark plug wire test...there was no spark going the distributor. So im at a lose...what should i be looking at?

Thanks for any help

Paul

locate your starter...

try this trick... get a phillip screw driver (get something not small objject is better) and tap hard 3-4 times on the starter. big socket is better... tap 3-4 times then try to crank the car again...

then crank the car again.. if the car start, then your starter has problem..sometimes the starter lock and prevent turn

Yeah the starter/solenoid gets stuck on some starters of some types of cars. Hitting it will get it to function (maybe). I don't know if that's your issue though. If you blew a fuse and have no spark, then there is something else (I think).

I bet bad distributor.

However, the hard start to no start has me thinking that there is something battery/ starter related. Check the corrosion on the terminals? Check the voltage of the swapped battery.

Fixed

It was an over looked 15amp FI fuse. The little guy that sits right under those big fuse relays...
