some crazy person who owned my car actually went with a battery from the dealer. And it has worked flawlessly since I bought the car in '07

Just thought I'd throw that in there....but Optima batteries are pretty good, pricey...but good...and they look good.

My OEM battery was a Delco Freedom, thing lasted over 7 years before I replaced it.

I now run a cheapo Energizer battery from that I bought from Wal-mart.

I had a energizer battery that I paid for $80 bucks with the core and it lasted 8 years! (2000-2008). I replaced with energizer cause it works so well, and i hope it lasts another 8 years

Believe it or not, the cheapo WalMart battery in my car is about 8 years old and on death's door (cells are swelling) despite the car not being driven much (and basically just sitting in the winter).

I'm suprised at cjrockers comment since I know others who ahve had trouble with that brand of battery.

I've been extremely satisfied by autozones mid-priced battery. I get plenty of years from them.

Worst one from recent memory? Sear diehard. Should have been named die-easy.

mid priced would be about $80.

The yellow top optimas are good for heavy automotive use, but not car audio. If you're running more than 1000 rms watts, putting in a kinetik or shuriken battery is much better than using a yellow top optima.

For those that aren't running high power for audio, the gold Duralast batteries are good mid priced batteries

I've had real good luck with the NAPa batteries. They are made by Interstate Battery.
