jumping fuel pump

ok the corolla has a full tank of gas in it and i kinda need it for my daily driver. the corolla is gonna sit til spring most likely and the gas wont last that long.

i cant figure out how to jump the fuel pump terminals to allow the pump to run so i can pump it all out.

my 88 pickup was simple just jump the B+ and Fp test terminals under the hood and the pump would always run in the key run position

but it doesnt work on the corolla

how do you do it on these cars?

hose wont go down filller pipe

ive tried many vehicles, it never can go far enough down

unless it is 70s older

the way its going im probably just gonna haul the car to the shredder

This. Make sure you setup some type of filter (coffee filter works) to catch all the crap on the bottom of the tank.

i ended up disconnecting the filler neck at the tank and using a rubber washing maching water hose to siphon it

almost filled my s-10 truck up

before the gas started going bad

yay

i aquired a good nippondenso alternator for the car that will work, from a 99 dodge 5.2L engine, and i can patch the exhaust and replace the flex joint with a kit i know,

i guess i will drive it again, in the spring time, after all this winter crap goes away finally..

Pull out the back seat and find the connector to the fuel pump.

I dont remember which wires are the power leads but you can find it easy with a voltmeter.

Hook up a battery charger and let it spin.

I had to do this when I replaced all the fuel lines and the pump had to run a while to refill all the lines.

If you pop the seat cushion out for the back seat, take the cover out the connector looks like

~ not an exact representation but youll get the idea.

4 and 5 are the pump, and as I remember 4 is the blue with the black stripe and is your positive.
I use a spare battery or trickle charger and run the pump.
