95 corolla misfires under load

1.8 L 7A engine

I have a 95 Toyota Corolla with 225K miles. It had been running fine with no issues. The other day i went to start it and it would not start. Would not hit at all. The rotor button did not look good and it was due for another one so I replaced the distributor cap and rotor. No help. I checked the ignition coil and it was out of range for ohms. Replaced with after market coil by Borg Warner. That fixed the no start. However in driving it the next day, it had a couple of misfires at rpm and under a load. I replaced wires and plugs as they were due as well. It did have a wire that was out of specs. This did not correct the misfires. Changed coils with another from BWD, still no help on the misfires. It misses hard, but intermittantly under a load. Basically it has a new ignition with the exception of the ignitor. Any suggestions? I susupected the coil. I have checked several, and none of them match the ohm specs in listed in Chiltons, Haynes, Alldata manuals.

No, did not appear to be, just normal wear in the electrode gap.

New plugs are AllData rocommended standard NGK's.

The puzzling thing is that I had no misfires before the coil failed.

Same issue

I could write almost the exact same post, except I have a '95 Prizm with the 1.8 engine. No starting, though intermittent, fixed with a new distributor. After the new distributor, hesitation, but only above 2000ish RPMs. Cap, Rotor, Wires and Plugs are all new.
