The clutch is 140 on ebay/local shops.
Timing kit with water pump is another 125.
How you feel about doing some work is something only you know.
If the body is solid, I would without a doubt in my mind.

Since you have been driving with a slipping clutch your flywheel will probably have to be resurfaced OR replaced depending on how badly damaged it may be. Dont forget to replace the crank seals too while you have things apart. Rubber parts immersed in hot oil all this time tend to get rock hard and stop sealing.

yeah if there is alot of blue and black burnt areas on the plte or flywheel then you will need new

dont resurface a hydraulic clutch flywheel it will mess up the clutch and cause non functionin clutch because there is no adjustment in the hydraulic clutch to make up for missing distance/thickness of flywheel

hard to explain

i usually re-use a flywheel unless it is horribly burnt

never any issue

on the 97 cavalier we had with 200k miles on it i simply replced the leakin bad slave cylinder and slipped in a new clitch disc

works like brand new, even still, a year later now.

i dont often replce wheels or plates.

unless they are trashed horribly

always have good clutch in the vehicles after just replacin the disc

the cavalier had a nad slave cylinder so i had to get into it regardless of condition of the clutch, and it had none anymore due to always leaking out all the fluid

on yours though it sounds like the clutch disc is totally completely worn out and maybe apart

may be some bad damage to the wheel and or plate

gonna cost some bucks now to replace all the parts

may want to just tax write off donate it yeah

because after buying all the parts and then labor charges at most places the bill will be alot im sure.

if it were us at the shop here we would go probably do it for around 125 plus parts

have fun!!

That corolla will run for another 70-100k miles.

Replace the parts and keep it moving. The longer you keep your high mileage car, the more money you'll save.
