Cannot open dorr inside, but not the common problem

Hello. It's my first time posting here.

OK. Let's get down to business. Took the door apart the make door handle replacement easier. However, the rod still attaches to the handle, nothing broken. It seems like the rod just does not pull the "thing" enough to unlock the door...

Anybody?

Thanks in advance
Jesse

Did you make sure the rod snapped into the little yellow (or white) clip on the handle? If so, sounds like the rod may be bent somehow.

usually the rod has bent or pulled straight more than is should be and needs to be bent back, adjusted to make it pull the latch lever more to release the door striker latch lever mechanism

i had to do this very thin on my 91 s-10 pickup recently

easy fix

bent to make it shorter from point A to point B and it will cause more lever pull distance action

good luck
