Neither. The bulb type is called Neo-Wedge, the hazard and defoggers use a 4mm sized bulb, which are near impossible to find in a store. Personally, I bought two of the LED variety from superbrightleds.com so I don't have to deal with them burning out again, which would be the option I would recommend.
They're the first product on this page. I bought the high powered ones, one in red for the emergency flasher and one in blue for the defroster (but you can go with whatever color you want there).
Thanks man I just ordered them in white. How to do you change them? Is there a way to change them without unplugging the buttons? I know how to take off the black panel already.
You've got to remove the switch assembly from the center trim piece. It's pretty easy, just remove the trim, unplug the connectors, and remove the two screws holding the switches to the trim. The lights are on the top and bottom of the assembly, if I remember correctly.
You are probably best off getting bulbs like those... ones that emit all or most light out of the sides, since the bulbs install from the side. The inside is black, so there is no reflection.
You have to unplug the switches and clock to take the black panel off. Then unscrew 2 screws to remove the switches. The bulbs come out with a screw driver and then knock them out.
Well I went to SuperBrightLEDs and ordered the ones that said 4mm already, hopefully they fit. They haven't come yet. When they do and I have them installed, hopefully I'll get back to you guys.
