Well... today I was at a traffic light turning left... I was kinda out in the intersection waiting... the light turns red... I make the middle of the intersection left turn... and never finish it. Thanks old lady, for running that red light. I'm ok, and I think the old lady is ok, but my 14 year old beauty gave her life for me...
AT least your airbags worked. Last week an old timer in a Tauras hit a utility pole near my house. He broke the pole in half, but his airbag didnt go off! Passenger side did!!

Reminds me of what the fireman told me: "If you don't use them, they usually work"

You're in Illinois, right? I've got some relatives up there I visit from time to time, so I'd happily sell you the trans if I could figure out an easy was to transport it up there, but I doubt it'll fit easily in a trunk nor would I expect my temporary replacement ('89 Toyota truck) to make it that far. Alas, looks like it's just junkyard cash for me.
that would be cool, how many miles on it? i don't know whats wrong with mine yet.
It's been around for a good (and trouble free) 245k miles. I'll have to inspect for damage, tomorrow perhaps, as I don't know exactly what the impact did to the drive components.
I'll have to test the whole trunk thing out, then. As far as I can tell, I'm not the one at fault, and luckily despite her plowing into me at 40 without so much as a honk or squealing tires, I've got nothing to speak of aside from a bruise on my hand where the airbag got me.
sorry to hear man..really. I would be devistated and I drive mine daily. So I do worry at times. I have had a couple close calls, but I'm usually on the defensive so I came out lucky
It's definitely sickening, to say the least, seeing a car one has put a lot of time and money into completely obliterated... the injuries often extend beyond being physical. I gotta say, Trife96, I hope this never happens to you, or anyone on this forum for that matter. On a different note, I've just been informed by a family member that Kentucky is apparently a no fault state, meaning that since I've only got liability on it, I'm not getting a check. On the bright side, I won't have to throw money at the EGR anymore or be annoyed by all the little quirks it had developed.
Good heavens. I'd hate it if that happened to me. What was she driving?
She was driving a huge dark blue Lincoln sedan (which is not so easy to see barreling through a stop light in the rain). It's actually right next to my poor Corolla in the pictures. I got spun around and totaled, she pretty much went straight and lost a headlight and some bumper. I don't know about that dent in the side of her car, but something tells me she's not the best driver to begin with.
I see you have the snow to deal with so icey conditions is usually not something I have to contend with also. I would suggest since your not going to get any money from the insurance co. I would consider parting her out. A few people made pretty good on parting out there Corolla on here. If you decidethat's what you will do. Let me know. I might be interested in a few things. Again, sorry for your loss bro. Hopefully there is bright side in all this.
