Thought I'd share this with you guys - A video I took a day before I replaced my engine with another 5A-FE.
The valve stem seals were starting to go and the cambelt needed replacing, so I thought I'd give it a bit of torture before scrapping it. Gotta love the noise the pod filter makes.
Valve stem seals are cheap... I hope you got the motor for cheap.
Yeah the new motor was a bargain, and has done only 60,000km (37,000 miles) - Was out of a 1997 model. The old motor needed the cambelt changed too as it had done 228,00km (141,000 miles). So I just bought the new engine and replaced the cambelt etc on that as part of the warranty. Haven't seen a puff of smoke since .

Couldn't find a 7A-FE with kms as low as that, and they were considerably more expensive. Plus I would have had to get it certed due to the difference in displacement. Ideally I would have loved to chuck a 4A-GE blacktop in (no cert required), but money's tight around this time of the year. No rush .

Over 900 views so far, interesting to see that Fiji and Barbados are the top two countries in terms of views. Would never consider doing this to my new engine, but still brings a smile to my face when I watch this video .
