As you might know, an old lady recently totaled my old white Corolla. Using this as an opportunity for better things, I selected a beautiful blue 1995 5 speed DX, the only major issue is that the AC seems not to work (no response from the button). Regardless, enjoy some car porn.
(I was visiting a friend when I took these, that's his '93 in the background)
I'll transfer everything I've done so far when I get my wrecked Corolla back. After that, I'm thinking "OR BETTER" would be the best way to describe my intentions.
It's certainly not the best color, I'll give you that Bitter. But as far as I'm concerned it's alright, and seeing how manual Corollas are slim pickings I had to choose between shiny light blue and faded oxidized teal...
I know what you mean there, gold. The old one had a fair amount of work done on it, but I BS'd my way through a lot of it and made a few mistakes that I regretted, so hopefully this one won't have the quirks the original developed. And I might just see what you're selling, too.
I'll definitely be posting the installation processes of things this time around, as well as whatever I do to it. I've certainly got a few things planned right now, though minor repairs come first (cracked door handles, missing screws, etc), but it'd be worth mentioning that a paint job is not particularly high on this list seeing how the factory paint is still in great condition (and pretty distinctive, in my opinion) and also that I'll only go for a completely repainted car (ie no MAACO or similar).
Sweet! Looks just like my 95 Prizm same color. You got the tach cluster.I like that blue. Reminds me of my old 63 Pontiac wagon. Just ordered a tach cluster off ebay to replace my dead non tach speedo. Bought mine 4 years ago with 110k for $700. Took it home and had to replace every stinkin' wheel stud(pain in the ass without an impact gun, in a condo parking lot in the Florida sun in august. My tools were melting into the blacktop-no shitsky. Then brakes all around, Belts, hoses, power steering pressure hose. Broken door lock and a sticky brake switch. All easy peasy. My neighbors were not amused and the funny thing was after everyone breaking my biscuits the whole time I was working on it, these same people would always knock on my door expecting me fix their cars-like they were doing me a favor.lol . I hadn't owned a 4 cylinder for 10 years before and took a while to adjust from a 1985 355cu 400 horse automatic K5 Blazer 4" lift on 35"s which I had been driving daily for 5 years.I am converted! Aside from oil changes and tires and an occasional battery, that's it. I just drive it and love the Ice cold hang some beef A/C and 34 mpg. I will probably get another Prizm but an automatic this time to make traffic easier when my back is messed up. I thought it was cheesy at first but I actually prefer it over the corolla styling even though it's subtle. Good luck.
