1993 Corolla Photoshoot - New Zealand (Updated 29th May - Page 58)

EDIT: To save everyone from having to go through every page, I decided to compile a list of all the current mods and photos, followed by the original photos that were posted when I first started this thread.

This is my 1993 Corolla SE Limited (Japanese import). It's the second model from the top in this particular generation (the first being the Corolla GT with the 4A-GE 20v) and has all of the features you would expect out of Japan.

It was completely standard when I bought it, but I've done a number of mods to it over the 2-years of ownership so far. My main goal is to do a 4A-GE 20v Blacktop swap, but that will more than likely be a finishing touch on the car.

New wheels now fitted. Top 3 photos are the latest.

The mods so far are:

Engine:
* Replaced engine with 60,000km 5A-FE 16v DOHC.
* Full 2" exhaust with Dynomax muffler and 2x resonators.
* Custom 3" cold air intake (CAI) with Simota pod filter.
* Header and front pipe (4-2-1).
* Removed the catalytic converter.
* TRD spark plug leads.
* Painted valve cover red.
* Chrome Simota oil cap.
* Oil catch can.

Exterior:
* OEM AE101 FX-GT front bumper & aftermarket lip (custom fitted).
* Genuine OEM Koito Toyota BZ Touring headlights.
* BMW M3 trunk lip spoiler.
* Aftermarket fibreglass sideskirts.
* 35% "Night Rider" window tint.
* 17" Sport Max 962 alloy wheels.
* Rolled rear guards.
* Rear bumper lip painted.
* 'SE Limited' and 'Toyota' badges removed.

Interior:
* Toyota Corolla GT seats + folding rear seat conversion.
* Reupholstered door cards with OEM Corolla GT fabric.
* AE101 FX-GT SuperStrut Momo leather steering wheel.
* OEM Lexus IS200 aluminium foot pedals.
* TRD leather shift knob.
* Leather gear shift boot.
* Rare OEM factory option Multi-Box.
* Ultra-rare OEM factory option 'Air Fantasy' fragrance control system.
* Rare OEM factory roof-mounted option Air Purifier unit.
* Rare OEM factory rear-mounted option Air Purifier unit.
* Rare OEM factory option motorised driver's seat rail.
* Rare OEM factory option key light.
* Rare OEM factory option floor lights.
* Rare OEM factory option velour extended armrest.
* Rare OEM factory option Burger Tray.
* Rare OEM factory option Clean Box.
* Rare OEM factory option felt-lined ashtray coin holder/storage compartment.
* Rare OEM factory option under-seat storage tray.
* Rare OEM factory option tweeter pods.

Brakes/Suspension:
* Lowered on Jamex springs.
* TRD 3-point strut brace.
* Monroe GT Reflex gas shocks.
* Resurfaced front disc brakes.
* Bendix brake pads.

Audio:
* Sony Xplod USB head-unit.
* Sony Xplod 6.5" 4-way front speakers (75w RMS each).
* 6.5" 3-way rear speakers (95w RMS each).
* Sony Xplod 4-channel 444w amp.

Original post back in 2009:

I decided to go and take some photos of my car today since it was nice and sunny, these were taken about 2-hours ago. It was a spur of the moment type of decision so the car was unwashed, hopefully it doesn't look dirty in the photos. The hardest part was dealing with the overexposure from the sun on the white paint, but I got there in the end. All of the shots have been resized to cut down on loading times.

Comments very welcome.

Already been dropped bro . Any lower and my aftermarket front pipe for my exhaust would literally be scraping along the ground. I'm not a fan of going too low, particularly because I carry passengers in the back quite often. Have a look through my old photos to see how high it was before I lowered it, it was like a bloody monster truck! Lol.

Thanks man, glad you like them. The place where I took these photos is called 'Musick Point'. It was deserted today due to everyone being at work, but gets really busy over the Christmas break. Always a very photogenic place to go, especially when the sun is out like today.

16's look too small in my opinion. I chose the 17's because they fill up the guards nicely, and the tyres are cheaper to replace.

you mean less wheel gap? I have 16's and with the right tire size, you fill up the wheel gap.

Yep, these are unedited shots - Although I did shoot them in HDR to handle the strong glare from the sun hitting the white paint and causing overexposure. Other than that they're basically straight out of the camera (Canon 450D DSLR).
