Hey everyone. For starters I have a '95 Corolla DX. I received a new audio system for Christmas, and i have only run into one problem. I can't figure out how in the world to get my power wire into the trunk. I successfully found a way to get through the firewall after a few hours of poking around, and currently have the wire all the way to the column by the driver seat belt. Has anyone installed an amp themself who could help me? I just don't know how to get past the rear seat.....
Thanks!
rear seat cushion will pop off pretty easily. pull up on both sides in the front. It will pop out. This will expose the lower bolt for the side bolster. Remove it and lift up on the bolster. I think the seat cushion may also have one bolt in the middle where it meets with the back rest.
Route the cables under the door jam trims. just pry on them with a flat head and they will popup. Then, pull up on the seat, and remove the back rest or raise it up by loosening the 3 retaining bolts, which you will see when you remove the seat.
VIOLA! Wires in trunk.

I just wired up my 1997 Corolla and I removed the rear seat to get a better idea of where to wire it through. I also used one of the bolts that bolt the seat down to ground my amp so it was worth the effort to remove the seat anyways. It is pretty simple to remove it just like trife96 explained.
I wired up my brother's 2000 Corolla and I was able to do it without removing the rear seat.. I just found a hole and fished it through somewhere.
A coat hanger works good for fishing wire through holes. Just put the coat hanger through first and then tape your power wire to the coat hanger and pull it back through.
I would just remove the seat though so you can pick the best spot to route it through and you may want to use the seat bolt for your amp's ground too.
Good idea to use the seat bolt as a grounding point. That's what I did with mine when I mounted the amp under the passenger's seat a couple of months ago.

What I did was easy, a little destructive, but worked well lol. I just drilled 2 holes above the wheel wells inside the trunk on the backside of the seats. I'll post pictures up next week if anyone wants to see what it looks like.

just be careful you don't drill near the passenger wheel wells because that's where the gas tank resides

dont get a capacitor, personally i think its a waste of money,
your amp power wire should depend on the rms wattage of your amp youll be powering
just buy a basic amp wiring kit, (wires only, you dont need a capacitor)
(kits include: ground wire, power wire, remote wire, fuse box with fuse on power wire)
thx for the reply

remember the wiring you use should go with the RMS wattage of your amp.
your amp may be 400 watts max but only 200 watts rms.
make sure the wire can handle that 200 watts, the max wattage doesnt really matter
you should be good with a 6 gauge power wire. its good enough for decent sized amp setups
i went through alot of instalation videos
but i m still confused about some stuff
where will i find the turn on wire
n how will i know which one is the right wire
and do i need to bring separate wires from my player to the amp for the speakers
cos i though i wud just use the exsiting wire
plug them to the amp n then the wires from amp will be connected to the speakers
and yeh how many speakers can i connect with the amp
like the one in the front doors
