Trunk Swap

1995 Corolla - It is time to swap out my dinged up trunk for a new one (which I already found). How hard is it to swap out the locks? so that I don't need seperate keys, or to pop it from the inside everytime. Anyone know about where to start on this one? I didn't think ahead very well here.

I actually swapped mine 2-days ago. It's extremely easy.

1. Remove the trunk by undoing the four 10mm bolts (2 on each side), then lift it upwards to remove.

2. Remove the plastic garnish in the middle of the trunk by undoing the six 10mm bolts inside the trunk (four on the very far corners, and two slightly further in). There are also a couple of clips that simply pop off as you pull it.

3. Undo the lock by removing the two 10mm bolts and disconnect the rod from the plastic holder.

The installation is the reverse of removal.

The whole job should easily take you under 10-minutes.
