Rear Window Defroster Lines

i was thinking of tinting my windows, i was taking a look at the back window.. and noticed the orangey yellow lines across the back window, if im not wrong, ive heard these lines are to help the rear window defrost? im not exactly sure, correct me if im wrong...
but anyway..
my question is, is it possible to remove these lines? and if it is, is that going to affect the defrosting of the rear window?
what are those lines for?

i dont really want them on the rear window once its tinted, theyd be running across the tint

thanks

Yes, those defrost your rear window.... they tinted my window right over those, and it has no effect on the tint. If you take off the lines, you will have no defrost.

Yep, those are responsible for the rear defroster. If you're doing the tinting yourself, be careful to not damage the defroster lines as they are very easy to break.

^ really not to hard to repair either. I had mine tinted and it didn't affect the tint or the defrost.

In some models the antenna for the radio is actually embedded into the rear glass next to the defrosting lines. It won't make a difference to the way the window defrosts if you tint over the lines and shouldn't make any difference to the radio reception if you have the built-in antenna (the reception is usually crap anyway). So go for gold .
