Used alarms are a nono imo as its too much of a crapshoot. Buggered remotes, hacked harnesses from previous installs, id be fussy.
We can't help you unless we know the problem. Whats missing, what are you looking for? Take pictures and post them.
You may want to go to the junk yard and try to find a car with one (million in one chance really) and take what you need.
Those parts may cost more then a new units worth.
A new compustar 1 way 4 button was going for 69 bucks at boxing day. 2 ways for 149.

everything seems to be fine,
its just missing the LED plug in & led
and a few wires on the harness,
but i found the led and harness on ebay for like $25 with shipping so thats not all that bad,

how can i test that the siren works?

kk i put the negative wires to a 12v battery and the positive to a 12v battery, the siren worked perfectly fine, am i supposed to ground the negative wires?
because i do that and it wont work, i dont know if im just grounding it wrong or something maybe?

if im not mistaking your supposed to wire the power wires into the ignition? right?
is the alarm going to work when the car is off, if i have the power wires spliced into the ignition?

For that, you need to read an install guide.

Have a read here - http://www.ehow.com/how_4707336_inst...car-alarm.html

Find the security system computer under the driver's seat, then turn the key to on, then press the green button on the side of the computer for 5 seconds. The security system indicator light should illuminate. Press the button on the remote for 1 second, the car should flash the lights and beep if the remote is successfully programed.
