key broke in ignition. cant get to acc position.

my wife broke the key in the ignition. the ignition was not turning sometimes and i think the stress from trying caused it to break. i know i need to change the tumbler but cant get the key to the ACC position.

in another thread i found searching, they say to drill out the pin on the bottom of the tumbler. will this work?
