geo prizm

hey guys. i am new to this forum. i had a question i have done some research but cant find much. i got a 1995 geo prizm which if i ant misstaken has the same motor as the corolla. it is a 1.6 sohc. my question is what can i do to get more power from it. without major engine work. i have air intake and new exhaust. what esle can i do. like like maybe put a big throttle boby. any ideal. thanks

your engine should be DOHC not SOHC, I'm guess you have one external cam gear so your thinking you have an SOHC when its a slave cam DOHC which would mean you have the 4AFE and the FE is not easy to get alot of power out buts its possible, but you end up putting in a lot of time and money so I've noticed, I have a 90 prizm with the 4AFE myself and all I have done is new NGK iridium spark plugs and took off the muffler that gave me better throttle response and more go but I don't know if it got any change in numbers, but seeing as you have already done exhaust and intake you should have pretty good get up and go

the only real thing I can sagest is higher duration cams, or even putting a bigger throttle body on her but the manifold would probably limit you on air flow
