starts sometime and wont other

Wed would not start, Thur started, Fri would not start, Sat replaced battery, terminals, started right up, Sunday started right up. Monday wont start. Will crank but not turn over, when it doesnt start right up it seems to sputter before it finally starts, and might I mention its raining today, was sunny Sat-Sun., dont remember Fri weather. Before I do the fuel filter thing, and pay to have fuel pump tested, looking for suggestions. Iam thinking start with cap, rotor, wires and plugs. Anything else that should be replaced or cleaned? Did replace air filter, pvc when I did battery. Might also mention had car setting for 3 days about a week ago and cranked right over with no problem. And the weird thing is I could hit the key tomorrow and it will start right up. Not sure if weather has something to do with it.

Update Monday night crank & crank, gas pedal to the floor, crank some more, finally shuttered a few time and started. Drove a 5 miles no problems. Tue Morning sunny and brisk here in PA, hit key started like it just came of the assembly line. Will be doing the Cap or rotor by end of week and give everyone a headsup.

don't think it's the weather. Battery was probably ok. Check rotor, cap, plugs. Then check fuel system.

i guess it depends. Some people here will say for rotor and cap, use OEM. But I have bought aftermarket and they seem to work just fine.
