removal of headlight assembly

I was thinking of changing the factory headlight assemblies with crystal lenses. In order to remove the headlight assemblies, would I have to remove the bumper in order to remove the headlights?? I know that the grill and side marker lights have to be removed as well

Nope, the front bumper doesn't need to be removed in order to replace the headlights. You just have to undo the bolts on top, the bolts behind the side marker light, and then pull upwards to detach the headlight from the retaining clip.

Yup, just remove the corner lights, grille, then head lights.

Not really. Just align them properly before pushing back in.

Yeah, if you are talking about the clip thing to hold the corner light to the head light, that can be a problem. On mine, I just removed the pin. No problem

do the headlights have to be realigned?? I thought these headlights had screws on the top and sides to position them horizontally and vertically??

^^^^ If you're replacing the entire headlight assembly, then yes, they'll likely need to be re-aligned as they don't usually come aligned from the factory.

There are two adjustment screws, a long vertical one to the rear of the headlightcloser to the side marker, and a very short horizontal one sticking out the back closer to where the grille clips are, and it's covered in a hexagon shaped plastic.

I'm thinking about changing my standard headlights to the glass type (same style, just made from glass instead of plastic). Would save me cleaning them all the time, and would look a lot shinier/more noticeable, but contemplating whether they're worth the price of $129 NZD each...Hmm...

yip they are worth it because as you said you wont have to be cleaning them all the time plus it let the light out alot more than plastic and i dont think you get that build up in or outside that looks like a yellow cast.

Good point about letting more light out. Yeah that build up starts pissing me off after a while. I'm forever out there with a tin of Brasso rubbing the hell out of it, lol. I asked the guy this morning if they were RHD configuration and he said yes, so I might actually get them. Bound to be able to sell my old plastic ones online to someone and make a bit of money back.
