Geo 95 prisim starter location

I am trying to figure out where the heck the starter is located on my geo. I have to do the timing belt. I pulled the air hose off and all I can see are hoses even below that I dont see the starter any where. If any one had a pic that would be a life saver. the manual is abisimal on describing the location. it also doesnt talk about any othre hoses needing to be removed.

Starter location

That's easy bro... if you look at the top of your engine, looking right at your intake manifold (where your fuel injectors are). Right underneath it, the starter sits where the transmission housing sits and the engine block starts. If you jack up the car, you should crawl under and look between the exhaust pipe and the transmission mount, it's right above that mount. You'll have easier access to it from the bottom.

The problem with having access from the top is that right over the transmission you have hoses and a mess of cables or wiring harnesses. So it has to come out from the bottom. Its only one connector and one 12mm nut that removes the mains power to the starter. I believe the starter bolts are also 12mm...

Hope this helps.

awesome that helped alot. couldent figure out why the air hose had to be pulled for a bit. the top bolt comes out from that side. which of course has the main battery wiring harness in the way. Had to remove the lower part of the air filter plastics to get any thing in there. the starter is towards the passenger side you have to reach in from where the belts are to get to it. once my toes dethaw Ill be having fun trying to get that main wireharness released so that I can unbolt the starter.
