Squeaky front break

Alright, I've been having this problem off and on since the past summer. My front driver's side break has been squeaking. Back in the summer it started a few weeks after I bought the car. Took the tire off to have an inspect, and the pads are practically new and still plenty of life on the rotor. I did notice a light groove in the rotor but wouldnt think the squeak would come from that as it wasnt super deep. There was lots of brake dust in which i sprayed cleaner to clean it all up, thinking just some dirt got caught up between the pad and rotor.
Seemed to have done the trick, and the squeak stopped.

Here it is February, and the beastly squeak is back. But here's the issue.... it only squeaks between 0-40 kmh. Roughly 0-25mph. And then no more squeak at higher speeds.

I've also noticed if I turn my steering wheel slightly to the left or right while driving the squeak will go away, but once going back to driving with the wheel straight the squeak returns. Once I hit over 40kmh it goes away. It's nuts.

What's you guys' opinion on what it could be? Never experienced this before.

The rotors might be warped and/or those pads might be glazed over.

It would benefit you to get new rotors and new pads. Please don't get ceramic ones. They require too long to warm up and you might roll thru a stop sign and murder some children.

Goto a Pepboys and ask for HAWK Brake pads for your year corolla. They are performance pads for less than half the price of the Prostops they will try to sell you.

Make sure to put some anti-seize/anti-noise on the pads metal contact points (The side that touches the CALIPER, not the rotor) and both guide bolts.

Make sure the caliper brackets are tight too, they can work them selves loose over time and eventually cause rotors to warp from un even brake wear.

AND, it could be a Hub bearing too, since you can turn the wheel and the squeak goes away.

Lift the tire off the ground, and place your hands at 3 oclock and 9 oclock, then at 12 and 6. and shake the wheel (push and pull) if it has any play in it, its pretty apparent you need either inner or outer tie rods parts.

figured I would throw out some ideas, give these a try and let us know what ya come up with.

not all ceramic pads are like that, i know from first hand experience that Wagner ceramic pads have excellent cold bite.

The squeak is caused by corrosion between the pad and the caliper piston. While the other advice is good, it wont solve the problem.

I use a Permatex spray coating on my brake pads and have NEVER had squeaks, and solved lots of others problems the same way. Buy a can. Follow the directions.
