Hi, I got a wet sunroof this morning, and in the UK it pisses it down nearly everyday and I found water near the hand brake, dripping from the sunroof controls, and on the LHD side of the roof between the roof arm strap and the pivoting hing of the sun visor.
The side leak - makes me think blocked drain hole or torn drain pipe, but what about the bigger central leak? :S
AAAAAAAAAAAAA this Toyota really not going my way. The previous owner should be shot dead!

more than likely its the drain hole channels clogged up. i had an acura a few years back to where after a hard rain, i would be driving and when taking corners, i could actually hear the water sloshing and sliding around over my head... and then at one point it made its way out and splashed down on my head while driving. needless to say i wasnt very happy with that, although now its kinda funny to think back on.
i just took my car to my tint and sunroof shop and dropped it off to them explaining the situation. picked the car up later in the day and they unclogged the drain channels. was filled up with dirt, broken leaves, pinestraw and what not. cant remember exactly how much it cost me... but had to have been under $50 for sure. never had any more problems after that.
so i dont know how they unclogged it but whatever they did it worked.
However, with a block drain tube - where is the water leaking through?
I will take photos of the leak today for more detail.
Regarding the drain tubes, unfortunately I do not have excess to a compressed airline that I can put near the car, could I try push down some semi-stiff wire down the drain holes you reckon?
Cheers guys.

Yep, using wire is a good makeshift way to unblock the drainage holes (a stretched out coat hanger works well), although a lot of the crap will most likely still be stuck in there (on the sides etc). You can buy compressed air in cans from a lot of places, which will work almost as well as using an air compressor. You can even get away with using a bicycle pump in some cases, depending on how bad the blockage is.

A small flexible wire is the best to start with. Using compressed air can blow off the tube and then you WILL have to take out your headliner to fix it. When you get your wire all the way down and find the exit point then you can blow air back up it to get out all the debris.
Help removing the headliner... took it off the AE92 and AW11, but this, the A pillar to the B pillar is one continuous part, so I do not know how to take it off.
I am guessing:
Door light,
Sunroof control panel,
seat belt adjuster cover,
B pillar trim
A pillar trim
?? Obviously need to wait for a sunny day
Also in the hope of figuring out if it is the top of the windshield leaking in or not, I was thinking of taping up the roof with Gafa-tape, however last time I did that on the AW11... was a proper bitch taking off the glue marks.

Cheers mate, had a quick read. The AW11 was easy to remove in this sense as it was designed to be stowed away in the front trunk /frunk.... Will have to have an attempt this and hope I do not break any shitty plastic clip in the interior's trim.
