New here. O2 sensor question

Hi everyone, I'm new to Toyota, but so far I'm pretty pleased with what I have encountered, both with the car and the forum. I bought a '95 Corolla last week as a daily commuter and it came with a big fat crack down the exhaust manifold(this allowed me to talk the seller out of a few hundred bucks). It seems like the ebay headers work out pretty well for everyone on the forums so I'm going to just go that route, but what I can't figure out is why my Oxygen sensor is wrong. I have a DX with a 1.8, I checked the numbers to make sure, and it has the thread in type of O2 sensor on the exhaust. It seems to me that the 1.8 should have the sensor that fits into the two-bolt bracket, and this is the style of all of the ebay headers. Anyone have any clues as to why I have this anomaly?

I think I figured it out, I think it was a California car. Anyone know whether or not there are any performance issues associated with using the O2 sensor for the 1.6 on a 1.8 with the ebay headers?

Yeah it's common for the standard exhaust manifold to crack directly through the middle, happened to my one and many others I have seen. Good choice to go with the eBay headers. I've got those on my car too (although got mine custom made as it would have cost a fortune to get shipped), but the design is the same.

As for the o2 sensor, I'm 98% sure that they will be the same on both the 1.6L and 1.8L engines. Bosch make universal sensors which fit almost every make and model, so I'd say it would be the same case with the OEM Toyota ones.

mine had that crack haha.

I have a full aftermarket exhaust on mine, and it passes emissions test in Maryland.

Strange, yeah, the 1.8L has the 2 bolt, while the 1.6L has the screw. Are you SUUUUUREEE???? lol.

In that case, simply get the headers for the 1.6L, and you are good to go!

When I search for a new o2 sensor I get this for CA:

And this for everything else:

So if replacement 1.8 o2 sensors are thread-in, why do all the ebay headers have a fitting for the CA only type?

Don't sweat it, just get the headers with the opening for the correct sensor, and you're good to go

The sensors all put out the same signal. The big difference is heated vs non-heated. Heated sensors have 4 wires. Other differences in price are if they have the OEM style connector or you attach the old connector to a new sensor.

Update:
Ordered the 1.6 black coated set, looks like you get what you pay for. The welds are pretty damn rough and the bracket isn't lined up very well with the tubes but for me it will work just fine. I'm super busy now, so I won't be able to put it on for a while, but I'll post pics when i do
