what do you mean by "sputter"?
im guessing its something to do with one of the sensors or pumps causing it to misfire, you should take it to a shop see what they say. they might be able to tell you something you cant see or didnt know. (hidden problems)
dont take my word on it, i dont know much about motors, wait for some of the other guys to reply
make sure your up to date on all your regular maintenance routines, oil changes, spark plugs, air filter, etc.
