Tire/wheel combo question

Hey all you tire and wheel gurus.... figured I'd throw this question out and know some of you could help me with this configuration.

Currently running 175/65/14 on oem toyota alloy 14x5.5

Looking to buy some wheels I like that are 14x6. Is 6" too big for 175?

I'm not buying new tires, as these are only a few mos. old, so keeping what I've got.

I want my tire to be even with the wheel... not looking for the wheel to extend out past the tire.

Lemme hear your thoughts!

175 is good for 4.5 to 6 inches wide. Keep in mind that 175mm=6.8 inches. If you have the option though I'd stick with 185mm since it's for 5-7 inches but in my opinion 7 inch wheels would be pushing it on a 185.

Depends on the type of tires. Each and every manufacturer has different recommended tolerances.
