few things i need to find out....

hi,

first thing.... would anyone know if EBC drilled/grooved front brake discs for models fitted with the 232mm diameterfront brake disc, fit on my 93 corolla?

Second thing.... my passenger manual window winder is F****D up, i have opened it up to see what has happened, when i opened it up the cable in the winder is all over the place... anyone know how to sort it out.... the window doesnt go up... just starts to slide down, at the moment iv put pins under it to hold it up....

third thing..... when i put the car in gear and lift the clutch up i hear a click knock sound (cant really tell where its coming from... think its rear and front)... also happens when driving slow... what could it be? had clutch replaced less than 6 months ago....

fourth thing.... when driven hard the water in collant just goes lol.... had radiater and waterpump changed less than 6 months ago... started after that.... never happened before....

last thing.... when driving over bumps i hear click/knock sound from rear suspension... could it be shocks or mounts? can this be lnked to sound from the gear change?

thanks

3. The clicking sound could be a bad CV joint. Is it more noticeable when you steer all the way in either direction? If so this is a good indication of a bad outer (at the wheel) CV joint.

Last one. There is a good chance it is just the rubber bushings on the rear stabilizer bar that need changing. Had the exact same problem. Depending on the condition of the roads the car is driven on and driving habbits, the bushing can last anything from 70 to 100k miles.

Sounds like the manual window regulator is stuffed. There are two types, one with a cable and one with gears, so judging by what you said, yours is the one with the cable - In which case, the cable may have snapped (happened to me with my electric window regulator about a month ago when I slammed the door too hard). Look for any broken pieces of plastic, although this usually involves taking the regulator out. If it is broken then you'll have to replace the regulator (cheap to get from a wreckers yard). Either that or the window could have just come off its rails, but I doubt that since you said the cable is all over the place, lol.

In my case the cable didn't actually snap, but one of the little plastic pieces that the cable goes through which lifts the window snapped, and to fix it you have to replace the whole regulator. They get quite fragile after 17-years of shutting the door. Ended up having to put blocks of wood between the door and the window until I replaced the regulator a few days later. Keep trying with the wreckers, one is bound to show up. In the meantime, have a poke around behind the door trim and see if it's something else causing the problem, although 8 times out of 10 it's the regulator at fault. Good luck dude.

Perhaps your brake pads are a bit loose in the brackets. When the car starts to move and the pads have some play you might hear them being wiggled in the brackets.
