Will it bolt up to the 1.8 transmission? I bought a 1.6 engine by mistake. It had the crank sensor and 7afe distributor.

Will the 1.6L bolt up to the 1.8 transmission?

What engine are you referring to?

We'll need a code.

4A-FE?

try the VIN number on the block, near the bell housing end on the same side as the exhaust manifold.

It'll be a 4A-FE, they look identical to the 7A-FE except they're not stroked out as much. It will fit right in as they use the same engine mounts etc, but you may have to use a 4A-FE ECU instead. The engine loom might be slightly different too, but I can't say for sure. I'm sure somebody will know what you need to change though.

THanks,
The only difference I noticed is the locating pin on the block for when the transmission lines up, and I would have to take the pin out, and then bolt trans on.
I have both flex plates, and the wiring harness, the part on the engine is still there, even though they cut the end by the firewall, you see, I bought the 1.6 thinking it was a 1.8, the distributer said 7AFe, and it had the carnk sensore, so I thought is was a 1.8, didnt know to look at the oil pan, and the 7a or 4 A stamped by the bellhousing, probaly cant take the engine back, so would like to make it work
Thanks
Bruce
