I was looking for some interior dash pictures of the center console to see how it was setup exactly. I only found a couple crappy pictures but noticed there was a single din up top below the air vents and something that looked like a double din below the climate controls.
Is this right?
What is that double din for?
Yes, a double DIN would fit in the storage space in front of the gear lever, but generally people don't put both a single DIN and a double DIN head-unit in a car. Unless of course the double DIN had a built-in LCD screen to watch movies or has a built-in GPS system etc. They're mainly just for looks, or for cars that have double DINs from factory and need to fill the gap.

You can fill in the original head-unit's position with a single DIN pocket so that it converts into a storage space. You can also get them with flip up covers too. Really cheap and easy to install.

Nahh just a picture of the oem cassette deck.
Is it exactly like this?
I know there's often differences between Canadian and American versions, I'm just curious to know if this is what the Canadian versions look like.
Yeh that double DIN is just placed way too low for comfort. It really needs to be up where the single DIN is now. However, that single DIN is in a tricky setup. To put a double DIN there you'd have to get rid of the factory clock and do something with the air vents. Perhaps fabricating some tall, skinny air vents and putting them at the far edges of the dash faceplate. That would free up some space for a custom double DIN.
