It says in the owner's manual and should have either the number or wattage on the bulb itself.

Good for you for keeping an eye on your light bulbs. Those brake lights are important.

One of my license plate bulbs just went out and I changed it. Toyota didn't leve me much extra wire on the socket connection so if was quite hard to pull it out far enough to get your fingers in there to insert the new bulb.

the license plate lights are 921's I believe as well. It would take some work to twist out the bulb socket from the 3rd brake light but you can unscrew it without taking out the whole assembly which requires you to remove the 2 10mm bolts.

I'm wondering how much brighter high powered LED 921 bulbs would be. Right now I switched out the burned out factory bulbs for PIAA bulbs.

The problem I've heard of with some LEDs, especially in brake lights, is they can actually look dimmer in a housing that isn't designed to project/direct the light off of them. That area though in the third light is possibly small enough it will work.

While we're on this topic, has anyone tried a LED in the area that lights the AC/fan controls? I've been considering a blue one but can't remember offhand what the number of the bulb is (I THINK it's a five watt though). Would love for something to match the ones I just put in my gauge cluster...

they might be 174

I've put a 9 LED bulb for the dome light which looks similar to the console lighting in the xD, xB and TC

I've got an LED high stop lamp (third stop light) and it emits the light perfectly. It's an aftermarket one however, not sure how much light a standard one would emit if you modified it to use LEDs. Gold94corolla did that once.

I uploaded some pics on this page:

I've seen regular LED and high power LED bulbs. The high power LEDs use 7w whereas the regular LED's are usually 2 or 3w. But the ones to get are the LED bulbs that have the light emitting on the sides not just the tip.

Like these LED bulbs:
