temperature question

okay whenever i drive i have noticed that the temperature needle is alway just little bit below the middle. sometimes it does seem to be in the middle, but most of the time its little bit below. is that a problem? Also I have done coolant flush twice. Thanks

On my 96 DX, 1.8 liter, the temperature indicator is always right on the wavy curve - straight across right through the middle.

As long as it's not in the red or not at the C it's generally fine.

Just below half is what I've seen on pretty much every car I've ever driven, including my 94 Integra and my wife's 96 Corolla.

Different thermostats will open with a few degrees variance. If you have a cooler 170 deg thermostat to the 192 deg thermostat in my corolla, the needle will move accordingly. With the factory 180 deg thermostat, mine was always a hair below the half mark, with the 192 deg its straight across or just a touch above.

Keep in mind the age of our cars. Connections for electrical components are not always clean, tight and transferring electricity at maximum efficiency. Because of that the gauge readings can vary. As pointed out before you only need to worry when the gauge goes WAY up!

Mine is a tad below the middle too, so don't worry it's fine. I just had it changed. The old one was stuck open for the longest time, and in the winter I would freeze my butt off cuz the air coming out of the vents was barely lukewarm at the hottest setting HAHHA..
