I want to add cruise control to my '94 DX Wagon...

How hard would this be to do? Did any 7th-gen Corollas even come with cruise control?

What parts would I need to swap cruise control from one Corolla to mine, exactly?

Thanks in advance for any info.

The ECU, maybe wiring, the actuator and cable, plus the lever on the steering wheel. I could see it being a little bothersome, but it's probably not that hard.

Both of my 7th gens have cruise control on them.

Both you and I my friend...there was a guy selling a whole set here that he got from the junkyard years ago but I was too late. I think it was the controller on the steering wheel, some wirings, and the thing that holds the gas pedal.

I'll start checking junkyards, but if the swap is that involved I'll probably just try a generic aftermarket setup. They run around $250 for everything you need. I'm sure I could find the stuff to do the swap at a junkyard for a lot less but it sounds like it could potentially be a real pain in the ass. Plus, I'm one of those people that goes out to the junkyard and pulls a bunch of stuff but forgets one simple thing I need to make it all work

Thanks.

EDIT: Nationwide junkyard search turned up some results for the servo but the nearest one is 71 miles away and it's $85. And that's just the servo, never mind the speed controller and the column control switch Looks like aftermarket is the way to go here.

Back in the day I added factory cruise to my base-model 89 Camry using parts from a local pick-n-pull yard for about $100 total. I also had to go back a couple of times to get everything. But this was just one of those good-ole-boy places where they look at what you come back with and give you a price. Not to mention it was probably a good bit easier on that old car which didn't have air bags.

Actually, if you're looking for OEM cruise control, I'm parting out my wrecked Corolla. It was hit on the passenger side, but I think the actuator might be ok. If you're interested send me a PM and we can work out the details.

I have been working on adding this to my 97 found a 95 at the Pull your self Junk Yard. I have found that you will need the steering wheel, clock spring under the steering wheel the cruise ecu , actuator and the cable along with the part that bolt under the accelerator pedal. I still need the switches on the clutch pedal support and I am working on the wiring

Anyone ever successfully installed an aftermarket cruise unit on a Corolla? Although I would prefer the OEM look/feel, I'd rather not have to go dumpster diving around junk yards to find the necessary parts.
