USA Transmission fluid

Im close to 120,000 miles on my 97 rolla and im ready to flush the old transmission fluid and put some new in.

My only question is there a certain type of transmission fluid to use?

Also my check engine light is on, and the guys at advanced auto parts couldnt find the diagnosis plug to check to see whats wrong. Could someone tell me where it is so I could inform the guys at advanced auto parts?

Thanks!

under the hood by the fuse box. If your facing the engine bay its on the right side close to the strut tower and fender. Look in your owners manual of the car, it will tell you what fluid to use.

That's for Corollas pre-1996 with an OBD-I system . The diagnosis connector for Corollas post-1996 (OBD-II system) is found inside the car on the driver's side, just below the dash - As in the picture 'snoofer' posted above.
