have you considered converting from the single beam headlamps to the dual bulb US style? you can then run the brighter halogen 9012 and 9011 bulbs instead of the single H4 or 9004 bulb you have now. throws more light on the road and the 9011 high beam bulbs are ungodly bright.

it will be a good idea but i cannot get those kind of head lights here in Egypt i really want to upgrade the lighting system what is available is the fog lamps only and other after market modifications to the front head lights but quality is not guaranteed if you can help me in the fog lights issue i will be grateful and many thanks to you for your attention
well just about any aftermarket fog light can be fit into the lower bumper opening pretty easily. I'm sure you could get those headlights and bulbs there, but it wouldn't be the easiest, find someone here selling them or put up a want to buy ad in the for sale forums. I bet there's someone who has some to sell you. as for the bulbs, http://www.finemotoring.com/ contact him and see if he'll sell to you in Egypt. tell him that Jordan (a customer of his) suggested his bulbs for you.

well those bulbs will only work to replace 9005 and 9006, which are what the US corolla uses since we have 4 bulbs total. not a dual filament bulb like you have (one bulb per side which does high and low). we have separate high and low bulbs.

Oh that means i will have to change the wiring to get 2 way cable to feed both bulbs

Good to hear. I should have worded that slightly better, I was meant to say that it's good to see that you've got AE100 shape Corollas in Egypt (with the JDM bumpers etc). Same sort of bumpers as mine. Feel free to add me on CarDomain if you've got an account.

Thanks a lot . Yours is in very good condition too, looks like the paint has been well looked after. What engine has it got in it?

My baby has been re painted recently and its always parked in a garage also cleaning it is done with intensive care the engine is the humble 1.3 2E carburetor with 5 speed manual gearbox but the engine is very sufficient for me although it lacks power in some circumstances but its cheap to run and economic approx (27Mpg in town & 32 Mpg on the highway)
Here is the engine pic
if you ever get the itch for more power/speed it wouldn't be an impossible undertaking to put a more powerful engine in there. they make a 4A-F that has a carburetor and puts out decent power and should be found in other corollas there. it would pretty much just drop straight in though i'm not sure about the transmission/gearbox/clutch/axles.
if you want more power (and more work) you could drop in a 7A-FE which is 1.8L fuel injected and has much more torque and some more horse power than either carbed engine. in theory you can carb any fuel injected engine with a custom intake manifold or custom setup for individual motorcycle carbs.

it will be a good idea to make such an upgrade i will search for the 1.6 engine but will it be economical can i know the mpg of the 4A-F unit
