turn signal flasher

hi everyone.

i am trying to fix my turn signals/emergency lights. They all stopped working after someone broke into my car (the thieves took my CD player, but looks like all the wiring is still intact). i checked the fuse and it looks ok. i bought a turn signal flasher replacement, but can't figure out how to get to it. i know that it is located under the driver's side dash. other people have suggested listening for the turn signal noise, but mine doesn't make that noise anymore.

any suggestions on what else it could be/what else i should do?

thanks

The Hazard button is damaged...

Remove the center console that the hazard button and defroster buttons are on... The wiring is damaged and most likely pulled away... be prepared to a. rewire from a diagram or purchase a new harness from a junker and wire it in...

Guaranteed.

Exactly as Rip the E Brake said. The turn signals need the hazard button to be hooked up in order to work. I had to run to the store once while working on my car and my panel with hazard button was off. No turn signals or haazards until I put the switch back in.

Same thing happened to me last week, busted the rt front window, even took the cover piece with the harzard and defrost switches.
I was able to find the parts at my local self service junk yard.
I went back to a stock radio/cass deck so it wont happen again.
I have an extra hazard switch left over but the defrost switch is broken. If the plugs are still OK, you can just plug in a hazard switch and the turn signals will work again.

Jim

thanks for all the responses!

i figured out how to get to the turn signal flasher, but can't get the dang thing out. i wanted to just try and replace it anyways to see if that would be a quick fix.

i still have my hazard and defrost buttons intact, but i think i may have to just take it in to be repaired cause i don't want to mess with wiring myself.

you all have been very helpful, thanks again
