Installing Extended Studs on rear drums

so im having an issue with my rear tires rubbing against the perch of the strut, so in order to fix this i had to purchase 1/4" (6mm) spacers so that the wheel could clear the perch. Now i want to install extended studs in the rear drum brakes to compensate for the spacer however i have never done this on a car with drum brakes.

has anyone here installed extended studs on these type of brakes?

Do i need to press out hub?

all you need to do it take off the drum, hammer out the old studs out of the drum, and then carefully press in the new extended studs (carefully as you dont want to ruin the threads lol)

I havent done extended studs, but had some normal studs snap, inevitably foring me to replace them so I speak from previous experience

what do you mean hammer them out of the drum, are the studs attached to the drum or the hub bearing?

Dont forget that hammering can damage the bearings. The best way is the remove the hub and press them out. BUT usually most use an air chisel. There may be room behind the hub to get the old studs out but there might not be enough room for the new ones.

Studs are friction fit with a spline.

I just sprayed it with WD40 and hammered them out but not super hard. It was kinda hard to slide the normal studs in the back so I'm guessing extended studs would not work so your better off taking the hubs out. Are your fenders rolled? Your tires will be sticking out more now so when you hit bumps you'll most likely hit the fenders now instead of your struts.
