I don't know shit from shinola, but my gmc says that even with the battery disconnected it has stored energy. I don't know if that car would be the same or not?

unhook it from inside the stearing wheel.. unhook the battery then when you have the stearing wheel off wait at least 90 seconds before frigging around with anything...

^^ What he said because even though it's already disconnected, you can still get shocked. Are you replacing your steering wheel with an aftermarket one? Just to let you know that if you do, your airbag light will stay on and that might annoy you.

And that's why you pull the gauge cluster and remove the bulb for the airbag light. Simple. It takes about 15 minutes.

of course be aware that if your car insurance is discounting you for having an airbag in your car you need to drop that discount otherwise you're committing insurance fraud. don't think they'd find out? wait till you have an accident or there's a claim made. they can drop you and deny the claim based on that.

Just make sure your car will pass safety inspection... I don't know about Canada, but I believe some states in the US require you to have a steering wheel with an airbag if it was original equipment, so check that for sure.
