try a high performance muffler like Magnaflow or take off the muffler!

Get aftermarket headers.

Remove the cat, resonator and run a straight pipe.

Gut the interior.

Or just remove the front-pipe altogether and it'll sound like a V8 Massey Ferguson tractor

like jelly53 said why would you want to make it louder, i would prefer to have a car thats mild when driving normal and goes loud only at high RPM's, if your gonna make it a track car- or jump neighbours out of ther sleep lol then just run the header and thats it no pipe no resonator no exhaust and a pair of ear muffs hahaha

I'd be doing the complete opposite trying to make it quieter. It's already embarrassing enough having to floor the 7afe just to catch up with the other cars on the on ramps...well not flooring but you get my point. Save for a swap instead THEN make it loud haha.

4AGE 20 Valve, 4AGZE, and 4AGE (not much point to it due to the effort not being worth the horsepower gain) all go right into the engine bay. a Celica's 3SGE/3SGTE also fit with modifications, as well the 2ZZGE if you really want something different. However, keep in mind suspension upgrades are a must with a more powerful engine, as are bigger brakes. I've also heard the torque can be hard on the frame over time.

I thought about this, and just decided to get another car. You'll also have to go with the JDM versions of the 4AGx and 3S series motors for the most power, but this will cause it to fail PA emissions inspection (no emissions control measures on these engines). The US version of the 4AGZE does not make near the power of the JDM, nor do the 3S motors IIRC.

Yeah, they're a lot heavier than the AE101.
