a131L tranny swap for a243L tranny??

I have a 93 geo prizm 4afe 3 spd auto (a131L) and I was just wondering if its possible to swap in a 93 toyota celica st tranny 4spd auto (a243L)?? I know they both use the 4afe engines. if so what else would i need for the swap?

...maybe. there could be issues with the torque converter or fly wheel though. possible axles issues as well.

No... you would need to swap your ECU and part of your harness... since the A181L trans is strictly hydraulic where as the the A243L trans uses electronically controlled shift solenoids to shift...

no, the A243L is hydraulic as indicated by the L, not an E. you're thinking of the A245E from a 93+ Corolla or the A246E from a 94-99 Celica.

Well then... check it out... but youll have to make sure the flywheel and TC match up in size...
