Interesting Perdiciment..

Well, as you all know, I got the 2nd rolla after my brother totaled the first...

This one, has terrible valve chatter...

Anyway.. my CRX is in the shop getting the clutch redone and the trans resealed...

So I am borrowing the Rolla from my brother ( I gave it to him so I could get the CRX)

I was delivering today and I took a hard bank turn, and I saw the oil light flicker, so I was like WTF??

I check the oil... THERE ISN'T ANY IN THE FUCKING THING... This is the 2nd time I have checked this to find NO OIL in it...

When I changed the oil last, there was no coolant in the oil, but I did do a coolant flush at one point and it was brown.... very brown.. I flushed it, its still brown but not AS BROWN... so I think its just really dirty...

It doesn't blow ANY smoke...

I notice when I remove the oil cap, the metal showing under the valve cover is a very very dark brown which indicates burnt oil...

Mileage on the car is 165,xxx

as long as it doesn't burn oil, it'll last.all engines I have come across so far (in e10 corolla's) hav had everything under the oil cap brown, so nothing to worry about.they just burn oil anyway lol

When I say its brown I mean DARK BROWN... I know my old rolla had MORE MILES than this one, and it didnt look anywhere NEAR as bad as this one does under the cap...

You should try doing a few oil changes with cheapo oil and short intervals and see if it can flush out the old stuff.

Are you sure the car doesn't blow any smoke? Mine does under hard acceleration. Have someone go WOT from a stop and watch the car from behind.

When i see that oil light flicker under hard turns or braking i know i have to top it up, but i usually do before that happens.

It has never blown smoke since day one... EVER... I've had it up to 100 with no smoke what so ever...

I always use high mileage... Either GTX or Pennzoil.

What I am thinking, is that this odometer is off....

We have random speed stations here in my area, that tell you your speed in real time...

I drive by it doing 30 in my CRX, the sign says im doing 28/29/30.

I drive by doing 30 in the rolla, it says I am doing 24/25.

HRMM.

and of course the trip meter doesn't work on it either.

^^ thats a common thing with these corolla's, toyota were generous with their speedo calibration and the milage odo does break in quite a few of them.in about 3.5years I went through 3 clocks in my 2 corolla's haha
