AC refrigerant fill up

as its summer now and my AC doesnot work very well when its hot outside
so i was thinking about recharging the refrigerant
any tips on how to do it and what to take care of while recharging it

also any other tip to make the most out of your AC

Use R134 refrigerant, you can buy the kit at auto parts store. If you have a significant leak then recharging will not hold for too long. You could try and see if that solves your problem. It will cost about $20 for the kit. Follow the instruction and inject to the low port side (L) and don't go over the recommended pressure. There is a label inside the engine compartment that says how much refrigerant our cars hold.

In my case, my car has a tiny leak and I have to recharge with 1 can of refrigerant every 2 years or so. That works good for me.
