What's up everyone! I'm sort of new here.. I posted my ae92 sedan in the 6th gen section a while back but I just picked a 96 dx to daily while I fix my mr2 (someone sideswiped it) and im wondering if anyone has ventured into the land of low offset? I'll probably pick up some el cheapo XXR 8" +0 and do a decent drop to just get me around town
I've browsed and did some searching and the best place to look at everyones car is the 7th gen thread but thumbing through 100pages to maybe find 1 picture is too much, so if anyone on here is running anything in the 0-+20 range post it up, if it's lower than that?? I think we'll be friends
I'm just looking to bring some flushness to the 7th gen crowd, I've already slammed and flushed my SW20 and now I'm seeing what 7th gens are about
No one is running that aggressive of a fitment on their car yet.
Just to put things into perspective.... a 7.5" wheel with a +35 or +38 offset will already put you at flush with the fenders. You MAY BE able to squeeze in an 8" with some fender rolling and pulling.
Anything more than that and you're looking at some serious fender modification and running extreme negative camber.

I found this car on a local forum, I don't know if he's on here..
they're 8s with what look to be 0 offset but I'm not sure.. I think these cars can take a lot wider wheel and lower offset than what you guys think, an since like you said no one has really went that direction.. The "flush" here is still very conventional..
According to his cardomain, the popo wanted to impound his car.
His setup's different now. All I can say is that if you choose to run that kind of stance, your tire life seriously suck since they're only 165 tires. Hit a pothole and kiss the whole car goodbye since I doubt there is any suspension travel judging by how the wheels sit.

no worries about the ae92.. It's long gone an I knew I was going to get this "stretch=death" topic lol I daily a 225 stretched on a 10 on the back of my MR2 with about 1/4in wheel travel.. No explosion yet, I take no special caution to driving, I hit potholes and take corners at normal speeds, hell I've literally jumped an expansion joint on the interstate at 80mph, other than smelling rubber for the next mile or so nothing went wrong, you would be suprised what a properly inflated tire can handle
Oh an fwiw.. it's Toe that kills tread, not so much camber.. Zero the toe and your good

Very true! My 17's are +37 offset and they basically sit flush with the fenders - Which is why I needed the fenders rolled when I lowered it. Anything that sits further out than that will certainly need some pulling.

our definitions of "flush" are very different my friends
"flush" for me is about 20-30mm PAST the fender lol
the car is just a daily, stock 7a auto.. nothing special or powerful so being low and having to drive slow isnt a bad thing.. ill leave the spead to the MR

I like the way you think!
Wish I had enough cash to buy myself an MKII MR2, those with no doubt in my mind be always be a timeless classic.

You can not Drift a FWD car. waist of $$ and time .
Keep the hella flush stance for the RWD cars.
Lol what??
First off.. Yes you can drift a FF, Next I'm not looking to "drift" my stock auto 7a, nor do I drift my mr2
low offsets and stretch tires is all about style and preference, just like staggered wheels or excessivly wide tires on the back of fairly stock cars or like you people on here putting intake pipes and headers on stock 4/7af engines.. it's all preference, never will every person agree with what your doing but it's your car as long as you like it, I'll give you a thumbs up every time
