I just noticed a noise me 96 prizm was making about 4 days ago.

Its like a clicking sound and its very noticable while driving in a city or tunnel.

its only happening while my car is in drive.

I opened my hood and it sounds like its coming from the left side near the belts (i just replaced my belts maybe 2 weeks about)

Any idea?

I can problee try to record the sound

CV axle possibly? How many miles on this?

I assume though by saying you opened the hood and heard it while in drive the car wasn't in motion so it rules out stone/nail/screw in tire, but check it anyway. It could also be a CV Joint as mentioned. Does it do it when you turn?

actually i hear it best if i get under the car.

Could a hole on the exhaust cause teh sound? the cars too low to really get under it
